Special contracts promoting the professional integration of jobseekers

Special contracts are meant to facilitate the professional integration of young people and the reintegration of the most fragile populations into the labour market such as elderly job seekers (45 years and more) and persons with disabilities or health restrictions.

Special contracts promoting the professional integration of jobseekers

Professionalisation internship

This six-week internship is aimed at jobseekers registered for at least one month at the ADEM and who are aged at least 45 years or have the status of an employee with disabilities or reduced labour capacity. The placement does not involve any remuneration from the employer. Employers wishing to give a jobseeker the opportunity to do an internship must be able to offer him a real job prospect at the end of the internship. If the jobseeker is hired on the basis of an open-ended contract (CDI), the Employment Fund reimburses the employer, on request to the ADEM, 50% of the social minimum wage for unskilled employees for a period of 12 months. If the employee is hired on a part-time contract, the reimbursement will be pro-rated according to the working time.

Professional reintegration contract

By signing this contract, the employer commits himself to offer a real employment prospect to a jobseeker who has been registered with the ADEM for at least one month and who is at least 45 years of age or has the status of an employee with disabilities or reduced labour capacity. With a duration of 12 months, the professional reintegration contract alternates periods of practical and theoretical training. ADEM pays a monthly he indemnity to the jobseeker every month. In return, the employer pays a monthly amount corresponding to 50% of the minimum social wage for unskilled employees to the ADEM.

If the jobseeker is hired at the end of this contract, the employer may benefit from a financial aid for hiring an elderly or long-term unemployed person

Special contracts for hiring young job seekers

Employment initiation contract (CIE)

The objective of the CIE is to provide a young jobseeker (max. 29 years) who is registered with the ADEM for at least 3 months, with practical training during working hours in order to facilitate his/her integration into the labor market. The employer who uses a CIE must be able to offer the young person a real job prospect at the end of the contract. The employment contract is concluded for a period of 12 months. The employer appoints a tutor who supervises the young person and establishes, in collaboration with the ADEM, a training plan.

The Employment Fund reimburses the employer 50% of the basic allowance (65% for the occupation of persons of under-represented sex in the sector of activity in question) as well as the entire employer's share of social security contributions.

Employment support contract (CAE / CAE agrément)

The CAE agrément allows young jobseekers under 30 who have been registered with the ADEM for at least three months, a progression towards a regular occupation in a private company. The private employers who use a CAE agrément commit themselves to provide practical and theoretical training to young jobseekers in order to facilitate their integration into the labour market. The employment support contract is concluded for a period of 12 months between the ADEM and the young person. The employer appoints a tutor who supervises the young person during and establishes, in collaboration with the ADEM, a training plan.

The Employment Fund reimburses the employer 75% of the basic allowance and the employer's share of the social security contributions.

Institutions that do not have the legal form of a commercial company (State, municipalities, public utility institutions, associations or non-profit organisations) who wish to give practical and theoretical training to young jobseekers in order to increase their integration into the labor market may have recourse to a contrat d'appui (CAE).
