EU citizens

All European Union (EU) citizens, as well as members of their family (who are also EU citizens) enjoy freedom of movement within the EU, giving them the right to work and reside in any EU Member State.

Nationals of the other contracting parties of the European Economic Area Agreement (Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein) and the Swiss Confederation are treated as EU citizens;

Legal and administrative formalities

In most cases, the legal formalities for registration in Luxembourg (registration for social security, tax administration, etc.) will be carried out by your new employer.

Social Security

All EU citizens receive the same social security benefits deriving from an employment contract as those granted to nationals. The social security benefits cover sickness and maternity leave, unemployment and family allowances, work accidents and occupational diseases, as well as invalidity and old-age pensions.
